Product Types can be used to activate certain logic in the system for the related Products.
When for example a Product has Product type 'DANGEROUSGOODS (ADR)' your are able to link all kind of ADR and other dangerous goods data to the product.
Below the Product Types are described in more detail.
The steps below show how to Add a Product Type
- Login to the Logistics Cloud Suite
- Search for the page 'Product Types'
- Click on Add
- Select an App Product Type (see the explanation below)
- Fill in the Product Type to own preferences
- Make sure Active is selected
- Click on Save

| BEST_BEFORE | When a Product has the Type 'BEST_BEFORE', a Handling Unit must be provided with a best before date when setting in to stock. Note: this field will be mandatory in combination with warehousing. More information can be found here: Product Type - BEST_BEFORE |
| BULK | This is used to determine if a product is a bulk good. When this product type is used multiple fields will be unavailable to fill in. More information can be found here: Product Type - BULK |

| DANGEROUSGOODS (ADR) | When a product has product type ADR, the checkbox of 'Dangerous Product' will automatically be checked. This will open up the option to fill in the required product information, as can be seen on Products. |
